AGF can’t prosecute Ekiti murder cases – Commissioner

Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, on Monday, advised the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, and the All Progressives Congress to stop chasing shadows.
He was referring to an exclusive report by The PUNCH that the Federal Government was considering reopening some murder cases committed during the first term of Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Ajayi said investigation into the cases had been concluded by the police in the state as well as the Force Headquarters in Abuja with those indicted charged to court.

He said a few of the suspects in the cases were discharged and acquitted. He added that some were on bail while others were facing prosecution.

Ajayi added that there was nothing left to investigate in the cases.

Owoseni also said that the allegation of certificate forgery against some members of the House of Assembly was a mere propaganda as no lawmaker had been indicted or invited for interrogation.
