Onyekuru joins Monaco for €15m

Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru has moved to French Ligue 1 club, AS Monaco, from Premier League club Everton.
According to Monaco, the 22-year-old player signed up for five seasons.

Though the club didn’t disclose the fee, there are reports that the player joined for a fee worth €15m.

The skilful dribbler has 11 caps for Nigeria and was part of the team that helped Nigeria emerge third at the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Reacting to his new move, Onyekuru anticipated a great season with his new team mates.

He also commended Everton, adding that his time at Galatasary was amazing.

He said, “I’m very happy to join a great club like AS Monaco. I will give everything to improve and help the Club to have a great season. I look forward to meeting my teammates.

“(This is a) new challenge, I am excited. Let us get started. I want to thank Everton for the opportunity and making it possible for me to experience the best year of my career at Galatasaray

“My time in Turkey was nothing short of amazing! The supporters, the club and my teammates made me feel at home from Day 1! We made history, Thank you.”
